Hope in Community

There is hope in community!  That is my conclusion after spending two days with other leaders from the christian community, business world, and academia at the Global Leadership Summit.  While there was much we could have focused on that divided this group—various denominations, backgrounds, ethnicity, and cultures—we chose to examine what united us.  What was that?  Our hope to help those we lead to grow personally, to help our organizations to make a difference in this world, and to allow God's purpose to be at the heart of what we do.

Instead of debating theology or ecclesiastical structure we focused on changing our hearts and training our minds to become the best leaders God has created us to be.  Instead of moaning the social and moral decline that is evident everywhere we elected to create, with God's help, a different future. Instead of triumphing greed or personal success we championed bringing hope and sharing love with all the people of the world.  This is the hope of living in a loving, God inspired, community.  It takes the focus off of ourselves and our needs and puts it on our neighbor.

Will you help me as we try to develop that same kind of community here in Logan?  I pray you will. There is so much more that unites us than divides us!
